1904 Queen Anne
Nestled on a hill with breathtaking views, Queen Anne is one of Seattle’s first and most enchanting neighborhoods. Known for its stunning vistas of city skyline, including the Puget Sound and the iconic Space Needle, this area is a perfect blend of natural beauty and historic charm. While the Queen Anne neighborhood showcases a variety of architectural styles, the most notable designs are its beautifully preserved turn-of-the-century homes. Our project involved a complete renovation of a charming, but time-worn 1904 home with the goal of instilling new character and function while preserving its vintage charm.
We used playful patterns, blue hues, and greenery throughout the home to make it feel cohesive and cozy. We love how these elements work together to make the space feel updated, yet still connected to its vintage roots.
The kitchen renovation quickly turned into one of our favorite projects. Here are a few of the special features we included to make the space come together:
Striking Dark Blue Cabinets
These cabinets created a beautiful contrast against the soft decor, making a bold statement, while maintaining cohesion of color throughout the home.
A Handmade Full-Height Backsplash
Adding a backsplash gave the kitchen a modern flair. The full-height of the backsplash created the illusion of more space, making the area feel more open and inviting.
Charming Cafe Curtains
These cute curtains created the perfect balance between charm and functionality, allowing natural light to flood into the kitchen while still offering the option of privacy.
Warm Unlacquered Brass Accents
Brass hardware and lighting added warmth and character to the space, tying all the elements together.
We wanted to enhance the delightful vintage charm of the powder room so we added dreamy wallpaper, elegant brass fixtures, and intricately detailed marbling.
For our color palette, we selected rich blue hues for the primary bedroom and bathroom to complement the rest of the home. We also added rich, dark brown hardwood flooring to warm the space and balance the soft wall tones.
